“Now, every time I witness a strong person, I want to know: What dark did you conquer in your story? Mountains do not rise without earthquakes.” (Katherine MacKenett)
We all experience hard times–but those troubles can create depth of character, resilience, empathy, and so much more, if we let them work within us for that purpose. Join me and a variety of guests every Thursday as we talk about a different topic each season through the lens of adversity.

The episodes in each season are named using the letters of the alphabet:
A is for Adversity
B is for Be You
C is for Chasing meaning
You get the idea. When I reach the end of the alphabet, I begin a new season with a new topic! All through the lens of adversity.
Read on to see a history of the podcast seasons.
Season 1: Living Intentionally
In the infant stages of the podcast, I used the table of contents from a quote book I compiled as the titles for each episode. At this point, I didn’t have a vision of where the podcast was going to go and it’s apparent that I was in my learning stages of this new podcasting world. I give myself grace and hope you will too!

Season 2: Storytelling
In the middle of season 1, I learned about the renowned storyteller: Matthew Dicks. I bought and read one of his books, Storyworthy: Engage, Teach, Persuade, and Change Your Life Through the Power of Storytelling. I then decided this would be the theme of season 2. As a teacher, I am constantly learning myself and thoroughly enjoy seeking knowledge. As soon as I learn something, I love sharing it with others!
WE REMEMBER
Edgar Dale
10% of what we read
50% of what we see and hear
and 95% of what we teach others

Season 3: Empowerment
The goal of this season was to offer tools and resources to truly empower others to be the person they are meant to be. Life is full of adversity, but how do we leverage obstacles to become who we want to be?

Season 4: Relationships
Humans are wired for connection. I focused on all types of relationships throughout season 4: yourself, family, friends, lovers, clients…even pets! ๐ I’m currently raising four boys–ages 5, [nearly] 3, 1, and a husband!

Season 5: Community
This is the current season of the podcast — it launched with this website on May 25, 2023. I went back and forth on whether or not to do this topic because it’s similar to relationships. However, I really dive into the “how” of creating a community and widening our circle. I live in Daybreak, South Jordan, but the principles are applicable for all geographical areas!
